Message

The success of any Higher Educational Institution is assessed by the quality and quantum of research carried out by its faculty and students. Research is also important for solving local and national problems, creating innovations and providing reliable inputs for teaching as well. The complementarities between the twofold function of a university to educate its students and to advance the frontiers of knowledge has to be clearly recognised. It is with this objective in mind, that the Centre for Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research (CIBR) was established soon after the birth of Adesh University in 2012.

The Centre for Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research initiated research through its research scholars and limited faculty. The centre initially offered Ph.D. programme in Biochemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology in the academic session 2013-14 to five candidates. During the academic session 2018-19 the strength of Ph.D. scholars has increased to 35 in twelve disciplines including medical sciences, dental sciences, nursing sciences, physiotherapy, pharmaceutical sciences and health professions education. All the Ph.D. programmes are offered under Choice Based Credit System and the university strictly adheres to UGC regulations.

The faculty is having Ph.D. degree from premier Indian universities and experience of working at international institutes in Australia and Germany as Post Doctoral Fellows and Visiting Scientists.

The centre having a built up area of 5,600 square feet has adequate facilities for basic and applied research in medical sciences and it is located in the Adesh Hospital building for easy access to clinical departments of Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences and Research.

Enhancing research capabilities and producing quality research is a priority for the management for which the faculty and research scholars are doing consistent efforts.
